World Ski & Snowboard Fest

We played a few shows in Whistler this weekend for the World Ski & Snowboard Fest. It was a total gong show but so much fun. Highlighted by a big jam on Saturday night with Z-Trip, Mat The Alien, Fort Knox Five, Vinyl Ritchie & Smalltown.

Programming note: the Smalltowns will be taking a break from their eastern tour with Shout Out Out Out Out this weekend to partake in the Telus World of Ski and Snowboard Festival in beautiful Whistler, BC.

If you're on the west coast this weekend, go there. Pretty much everyone I know will be.

Kruder & Dorfmeister

I was browsing cyberspace this morning and came across the fact that K&D's first EP on G Stone Records came out in 1993. And I thought "That's a long fucking time ago!". These guys basically defined the downtempo genre. And undoubtedly had the genre's biggest selling album with their K&D Sessions record in 1996. That record also brought the remix to light as a respected art in the mainstream, around the same time Puffy claimed to have "invented the remix" these guys were releasing a retrospective compilation of theirs. So spark one up for downtempo and Kruder & Dorfmeister.
