one direction band

One Direction is made up of five talented, cheeky boys; Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.

The band came together at the bootcamp stage of The X Factor 2010 and made it all the way to the final before finishing 3rd behind Rebecca Ferguson and the eventual winner Matt Cardle.

1D are embarking on their first arena tour with The X Factor Live Tour which sees them performing to over 500,000 people up and down the country.

The boys are very excited to be working on their debut album to be released later this year!

The boys pulled up in their chauffer-driven car minutes after Simon Cowell arrived at Sony’s building himself.

An onlooker saw the high-waisted music mogul enter the building just before the five lads – Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zain Malik and Niall Horan – made their entrance. But, naturally, there was a group of fans waiting ready to meet them before they could get through the doors.

Speculation has been rife that the boys will get an early record deal since Cowell gushed about the fivesome on last night’s Xtra Factor.

‘I genuinely, genuinely believe with all my heart that we’re going to see these boys in the final,’ he said, as well as comparing them to music legends Take That.

Linkin Park new

Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries.

Its following studio album, Meteora, continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200 album chart in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth greatest band of the music video era and the third best of the new millennium behind Oasis and Coldplay.

Having adapted the nu metal and rap metal genres to a radio-friendly yet densely layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band explored other genres in their next studio album, Minutes to Midnight, which was released in 2007.

The album topped the Billboard charts and had the third best debut week of any album that year. The band has collaborated with several other artists, most notably with rapper Jay-Z in their mashup EP Collision Course, and many others included on Reanimation.

The band's most recent work, the concept album A Thousand Suns, was released on September 8, 2010. Linkin Park has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and has won two Grammy Awards.

In June 2011, Bennington revealed to Kerrang! that Linkin Park has begun working on new material for their next album. He explained, "We've been working on a new record for the past two months. The music is great and we're well ahead of where we're expecting to be. There aren't a whole lot of noises going on, but there are a lot of good songs. It will probably get a very polarized reaction. Which pleases me. As an artist, I want a reaction." The singer added that the band would be looking to tackle controversial topics on their new album, rather than the more personal subjects of their older material. "We've learned how to write serious songs and serious lyrics. We've learned how to deal with politics, faith and other things. Those are things that can get preachy really quickly, which we don't want to do. So you need to learn to talk to people and not at people", he said.

Rick Rubin will be producer of the new album. "Typically we'll have a once-a-week meeting to go listen to the songs that they're coming up with and talk about them. For so early in the project, they are much further along than they have been on the last two albums we did. On A Thousand Suns there were still a lot of irons in the fire. We knew, 'OK, we can't do this forever. Let's leave this batch and we'll come back and address it when we start up again'", Rubin said.

paramore 2011

Paramore is an American rock band from Franklin, Tennessee, formed in 2004. The band consists of lead vocalist Hayley Williams, bassist Jeremy Davis, and guitarist Taylor York.

The group released its debut album All We Know Is Falling in 2005, and its second album Riot! in 2007, which was certified Platinum in the US and Gold in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK. Brand New Eyes, Paramore's third album, was released in 2009 and is the band's highest charting album to date.

On January 10, 2011, in an interview with MTV, Hayley Williams has said that despite the band losing two of its founding members, they will be releasing new music in 2011, though it is not known yet if they will manage to record a full album for release this year, or just release some songs.

The singer also admitted that Paramore's style was likely to change with the new lineup, but clarified that the band would still retain their signature sound.

On February 2, 2011, Josh Farro confirmed the name of his new band, Novel American. Zac has also confirmed his new band, Half Noise.

On February 17, 2011, Hayley Williams has confirmed that the band will be hitting the studio upon returning from their South American tour, to record a batch of songs to be released over the summer, prior to a new full-length album that might follow late this year or in 2012. One of the new songs to be released include "In the Mourning", which Williams debuted on her Tumblr page.

On March 21, 2011, Paramore stated on their various social networking accounts that they were entering a studio in Los Angeles with producer Rob Cavallo to record their next album.

On June 3, 2011, Paramore released the single "Monster", featured on the Transformers: Dark of the Moon soundtrack, on YouTube. This is the first song that the band released without the Farro brothers.

On June 9, 2011, Hayley Williams announced that the band are starting to write their fourth album, which they hope to start recording at the end of the year, so it'll be ready for release in early 2012.

SHINee

3rd Most Talented Idol Group: SHINee

SHINee debuted in 2008 and made headlines because of their amazing performance of “Replay”. To new Kpop fans, do look it up. It won’t be a disappointment. It’s one of the best debut by an idol group. And from that, you can really tell that SHINee is the next best thing. I mean the group can lead the Hallyu Wave to the world. And I’m not just talking about foreigners who are into Kpop.

Shinee (샤이니, stylized as SHINee, pronounced  "shiny")
is a contemporary R&B South Korean boy band. Formed by Sm Entertainment  in 2008,
they made their debut on May 25, 2008 on SBS's Inkigayo with their promotional single, "Noona Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)" ("누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)", lit. "Older Girl, You're So Pretty (Replay)"). The group consists of OnewJonghyunKey, Minho and Teanim
Since their debut, Shinee has released two full-length albums,
three mini-albums, and various singles. They have also won many awards, held a concert tour and starred in their own reality shows. Shinee is considered to be a fashion icon having started the "Shinee Trend". They are set to make their japanese debut in March 2011

To be honest when I was doing this ranking, SHINee and 2PM were continuously switching places in the 3rd and 4th spot as I plug in factors. 2PM is really much stronger on the vocals than SHINee. Again, when I say strong vocals, I meant the voice is solid whatever range it is. The problem that I see in SHINee is that Onew and JongHyun have contrasting voice quality. So far it hasn’t really been a problem in their songs but it does limit their song choices. An example of what I’m saying is B2ST, and you can hear a bit of it on their Lucifer song. Again, no offense to B2ST fans. I’m just saying it as it is. But saying that, what pulled SHINee up is their performance.

SHINee, MBLAQ and 2PM are pretty much on the same boat. The difference is just appeal and that’s what I like about SHINee. When they perform, they just perform. No theatrical or fan service during the performance making them look expensive because of their professionalism. Again, no offense to the other group. SHINee just perform so well.

But saying that, SHINee just finished 3rd because of how good DBSK and Big Bang. The latter two groups might as well be the two greatest idols that Korea has offered of all time. But maybe in time SHINee will be as good as them. Well, maybe. Though Taemin grew as a singer, Minho’s growth in rapping is hardly noticeable making it negligible. And from videos I’ve seen, his singing is just so-so.

SHINee and SM Entertainment are lucky to have one another. In SHINee’s point of view, they are given everything they need to be on top. And with their capabilities, they will be on top.

Two more two go. I’ll compress my article on the two into one. I’ll leave you with my favorite performances of SHINee. I really wished that they didn’t changed that choreography in Lucifer. The practice vid they uploaded was so much better than what they’re doing now. Also, they’re already good enough. They don’t need back up dancers.

In 1996, in Los Angeles, California USA, vocalist + rapper Mike Shinoda, guitarist Brad Delson, bass player Darren 'Phoenix' Farrell and drummer Rob Bourdon started a band called Xero; Shinoda then hooked up with DJ + turntablist Joseph Hahn while studying painting at the Pasadena Art Center. The final piece in the puzzle was singer Chester Bennington, a transplanted Arizona native who started making records when he was 16. A short while later, Farrell left to tour with another band; Xero then renamed themselves to Hybrid Theory, started writing new material and recorded their self-titled 6-track EP in 1999. After resolving a legal issue with another band concerning their name, the group, newly named Linkin Park, were finally signed to Warner Bros. Records in 2000.

In October, that same year, was released their first full-length disc, a 12-track set entitled "Hybrid Theory", like their former band name; the explosive mix of Industrial Alternative-Metal Rap-Metal made them truly unique and the band themselves were getting increasing media attention. Tour dates were selling out; within five weeks of "Hybrid Theory"'s release, the album had been certified gold by the RIAA, signifying 500,000 units sold and launching the crew into the top 20 of the U.S. Albums chart; by this time, founding member bassist Darren 'Phoenix' Farrell had returned to the line-up and before the year's end, the album hit #2 on The Billboard Top 200 chart. It included "One Step Closer" which rose to #5 on The Modern Rock Tracks and #4 on The Mainstream Rock chart.

The next year, the album, went 8 times platinum following the success of "In The End" which hit #1 on The Modern Rock chart and #2 on The Billboard Hot 100; the album also contained two more Modern Rock top 40 hits, "Papercut" and "Runaway", plus the massive smash hit "Crawling", which crashed into the top 5 on both Billboard's Rock charts and won them a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance. Linkin Park achieved worldwide fame with just one album which the group supported with over 300 shows; "Hybrid Theory" ended up selling 19 million copies all over the world.
In July 2002 Linkin Park issued the remix-album "Reanimation" which peaked at #2 in U.S. while the re-worked and re-titled track "Pts. Of. Athrty" entered the top 30 of The Modern Rock chart.
The band's proper sophomore outing "Meteora", followed one and a half year later, in March 2003; the first single, "Somewhere I Belong", went straight to the #1 spots on both Modern and Mainstream Rock charts and the album shot to the top of the U.S. Billboard Top 200; a few weeks later became #1 in several European countries, #2 in Canada and Australia. The CD spawned a staggering four more #1 Modern Rock hit singles: "Faint", "Breaking The Habit", "Lying From You" and "Numb". Linkin Park continued to tour extensively sharing the stage with the likes of Metallica, Mudvayne, Blindside, Limp Bizkit and Deftones.
In the fall of 2004 was released "Collision Course", a collaboration album between Jay Z and Linkin Park which hit #1 on The Billboard 200 and included the top 40 single "Numb/Encore", the song eventually earned the artists a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
Mike Shinoda started the band Fort Minor as a side-project and in late 2005 he decided to finally release his long dreamed about Rap album, "The Rising Tied".
After 14 months in the studio, Linkin Park released, "Minutes To Midnight", in May 2007. The first single off the CD, "What I've Done", debuted straight at #1 on Billboard's Modern Rock chart, it was only the third song ever to do so; the track also hit #7 on The Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Active Rock charts. With their third album, once again, the band topped the charts in every corner of the globe; in U.S. the second single, "Bleed It Out", peaked at #2 on The Hot Modern Rock chart and at #3 on The Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks; also the follow-up, "Shadow Of The Day", fell just shy of the #1 spot on The Hot Modern Rock Tracks and "Given Up" broke into the top 5 on both Billboard's Rock charts. The final single, "Leave Out All The Rest", reached the #11 position on The Hot Modern Rock airplay chart.
In mid-2009 the heavy-Rock powerhouse group returned at #1 on the Modern and Active Rock charts with "New Divide", a single lifted off the soundtrack to the summer blockbuster action film "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen".
In October of that same year, Dead By Sunrise, the side-project of Chester Bennington, put out its debut album: "Out Of Ashes".
